The Last Couple Weekends

I love summertime! I get to relax, clean, workout, walk the pups, catch up onshows, anything I want during the week and on the weekends I feel like we are booked solid! Last weekend we had a couple things going on.
First up, a bunch of Phi Delts were in town for a golf tournament thing they had set up. The golf tournament was scheduled to take place on Saturday and on Friday they had a big get together at The Hard Rock. We (Trevor) was not able to participate in the golf tournament, but we did go and hang out with everyone on Friday.
I loved seeing all these guys and catching up!

On Saturday we had to wake up really early because we had to head to Kansas. My cousin's wedding was taking place that evening on my grandma's farm. I usually only see this side of the family during Christmas, so it was great to see everyone and catch up mid-year!
Where the ceremony took place...so pretty!

It's hard to see, but the hay bales say Carley & Spencer

It was extremely windy!

But that didn't stop the beautiful ceremony!

Onto the reception...

They weren't so nice!

My handsome date.

First dance

My amazing grandparents dancing!! They won the contest on who has been married the longest!! 62 years!! I love them so much and they are such a great example on what to strive for in a marriage.

This past weekend Trevor had a guys weekend planned at Spider Creek! I don't think guys take that many pictures...so here is the only one I saw.
They looked like they had a great time! While the guys were gone I got to hang out with the pups, plus I dog-sat for one of the guys going on the trip. His dog is actually related to Whiskey! They have hung out a few times and they just have a blast together.

Two peas in a pod!

This guy was not so thrilled about having another big dog around the house! I'm sure this was him saying Whhyyyyyy!

I just love weekends!

Cheer Camp

My responsibilities as cheer coach have officially begun! This past week was cheer camp and it was definitely a new adventure! It was a 3 day/2 night camp at OSU. We left Tulsa on Tuesday morning around 8:30, got checked into our dorms - my girls stayed in Allen, got settled in and headed to the Opening Ceremonies.
North girls about to load the busses

Both 8th grade teams about to head to Gallagher.

All the BA teams at camp! Both 8th Grade Teams, Freshman Team and JV Team

With the coaches

Overall, the first day went really smooth! Better than I was expecting. That night a couple girls were a little homesick, but we made it through!

Day 2: I loved their cute outfits with their spirit gear on!

The second day had a few more bumps in the road. Right when we got to Gallagher one of my girls tripped up the stairs and scraped her palm, knee and the bottom of her toe. There was a lot more blood than I wished to see! So the first aide staff got her all taken care of! Shortly after that, one of the girls wasn't feeling well, so we took her temperature and she was running a fever of over 102! So needless to say, she ended up leaving camp early. Then, when the girls were practicing stunts, one of my girls got hit in the head and when the first aide staff checked her out, they said she may have a slight concussion. Ahhhh everything comes in threes! Luckily, the bad lucky stopped there!
I had to leave early on the second day because Trevor had bought us tickets to see Wicked before I had accepted the jobs at BA!
Soooo good!!!!

Thursday morning I drove back to Stillwater to be with my team on their last day of camp! They really pulled together the last day and did a great job during their final performances!!

Broken Arrow definitely didn't come home empty handed!! Lots of trophies and ribbons!
BA 8th Grade North walked away with Most Improved, Game Time Top Team, Superior Ribbons and a Spirit Stick!

So proud of these girls and what they accomplished and I'm so excited to see what this year has in store!

Laundry Room

When we moved into our house our laundry room was very standard and not very efficient.
It just had one bar running across the top and a shelf above that, which was entirely too high to reach. I also had to buy this little shelving unit because I had no where to put the laundry detergent/iron/cleaner/etc.
So it was a bit cramped in the laundry room.

There are of course a million ideas on Pinterest and a few caught my eye...

I LOVED the idea of using a ladder! So my original idea was to put in a cabinet to store stuff and put up a ladder to hang the clothes on! As time passed and the project was not moving along very quickly, I decided to make it easy on Trevor and do something a little more simple. So we decided to just add a cabinet and keep the bar and high shelf!

Taking down the shelf/bar.

And here it is! Nothing too special, but I love the colors I chose and the efficiency. Now I don't have to have that shelving unit in there, so there is a lot more space! PS: please excuse our OLD washer and dryer that is decorated with lovely duck tape! We are looking into getting new ones in the near future! In the Pinterest pictures I really like the little shelf right above the washer/dryer. However, before I add that I want to get our new washer/dryer so we know the correct height.

All in all, this little house project didn't take much time at all! We bought the cabinet at Lowes and I painted it, which took about 20 min. The tearing down and reassembling took only about 30 min. Just a fun little project that we got to do together.

Folds of Honor

This post is EXTREMELY late...but better late than never! :)

One of our good friends works for Folds of Honor and on Memorial Day weekend the Folds of Honor was hosting a bunch of events for their recipients. One of which was a cookout at Skiatook Lake. Rhett, our friend that works at Folds, asked Trevor if him and his dad would cook for the cookout. They have a huge grill/smoker so it was perfect for the event.

Beautiful view in the morning

Grill Master

Where the event took place
Lots of burgers

Love these two!

So much food!

The Grill!

Since Trevor grilled for the event, Rhett gave us tickets to see Dierks Bentley that was playing at the Hard Rock in affiliation with the Folds of Honor event weekend! We had such a good time!
Love this pretty lady!
Two of my favorite people!

DIERKS!!

I love that he invited all the recipients up on stage with him!

We had such a good time meeting people at the Cookout and spending time with friends at the concert! Overall, it was a successful Memorial Day weekend and a great way to celebrate our veterans!

3rd Anniversary

I've always wanted to share my brothers speech and I thought this was the perfect opportunity. He is an amazing writer and so for his speech he wrote us a poem...

It all started March 3rd 1988
If not for the pictures of me holding her, as a kid I don't think I was so sure about this date.
Her coming into MY playroom started all the rage,
Little did I know that 10 years later it would be home to speakers and a stage.
American Girlz moved in, and out my stuff went
Except for when I came home from school, and there the nights I spent.
My bedroom had become a room of polka-dots and such,
And then a year later this little sister of mine had a room to sleep in, a room to sing in, and a room to store all her stuff.
Throughout the years we definitely had our brother and sister moments,
Like when I said I won't tell mom where you hid your cut hair, I promise.
Through the good times and the bad we've always been there for each other
And I want you to know that even though you're getting married you can always come to me as your friend and as your big brother.
I could go on and on with moments we've had and laugh, or cry, about each one,
But this day is for you and Trevor so I will just move on.
When we were younger you once told me "I want to marry someone like you"
Although no one can quite meet that standard, I guess Trevor will do.
Being your big brother I know Trevor has put up with a thing or two,
Like a smashed car door on a first date, or being second to a seven pound Yorkie-Poo.
Through the years we've all seen you both grow closer along the way,
And I couldn't be happier for both of you on this very special day.
I'm sure I speak for everyone here when I wish you both the best,
May love and having each other there bring you both a lifetime of happiness.

I love reading through that occasionally because it always makes me laugh... and cry

I love looking back on our perfect day.

View our First Anniversary.
View our Second Anniversary.

Yesterday we had an amazing day! We got coffee together in the morning and then had lunch at El Tequila. That afternoon we just hung out. We went on a walk with the pups, played some ping pong and made dinner together. Perfect day in my book.

Yummy Lasagna Rolls- they are a bit labor intensive, but so worth it!! I'll have to post the recipe soon.
Carrot cake!! Seriously, the best I've ever had! Check out the Pioneer Woman's recipe!

We wrapped up our evening by opening our goals. We each wrote 2-3 personal and 2-3 relationship goals that we wanted to accomplish on our anniversary last year. We didn't share them with each other and we haven't talked about them all year. So we finally got to open them up and read them to each other. It was amazing to see how many of our goals were the same and how much we have grown together this year. I'm excited to write this years goals and see where it leads us next year!

This has been the most amazing 3 years of my life! We have had some amazing things happen in our marriage that I am thankful for daily. We have also faced some tough days but when we face them together, something good always seems to come of it. I can honestly say that we are a team. I have so much love and appreciation for this amazing man and I am so excited to see what is in our future. He shows me daily what it's like to love and be loved.

<3 Love and be happy, be loved and be happier! <3

New Adventures

I wrapped up my time at Union this past Friday and am now about to embark on new territory! I am excited to say that I am a Broken Arrow Tiger again! 🐯

I will still be teaching 6th grade math - which is good for me! I can't handle too much change all at once! Lol! So I'm happy to be switching schools but sticking to what I know and love! I will be at the new Middle School in BA called Oneta Ridge! I got a little tour of it a couple weeks ago and it is beautiful! I'm super excited about the ice machine that makes ice like Sonic!! It really is the little things!

Along with teaching 6th grade math, I am also going to be the 8th grade CHEER COACH!
Tryouts this year-thanks for the photo Missi!

Although I have never cheered a day in my life, I have always had a love for performing and performing has always been a part of my life!
Gosh that makes me miss performing with these wonderful people in this fun show!...

I am ecstatic that summer is here and that I get a few months to rejuvenate, but I am also ready for these new adventures to begin!
