Happy Halloween 2017

We had so much fun tonight! Brooks was having a blast, so that just made my night. I think he is going to sleep well tonight! ;)

I really didn’t know what to dress the boys up as for Halloween this year. To be honest, I didn’t really want to spend a bunch of money because really, Brooks won’t remember this, but I will! So, I went with OSU football player and football. I mean, come on, you can’t go wrong with anything OSU. I already had a football onesie and hat, so Rhett was done and I ordered Brooks’ outfit online. It is also pajamas. SCORE! Halloween costume, pajamas and a cute outfit to wear on gameday. I like multi functioning outfits!

Here is the best picture I could get of the two of them!

Let’s be real...this is how most of the photo session went...

Haha!

Gosh, they are so cute.

We decided to trick or treat in our old neighborhood with our former neighbors. It was pretty chilly outside, so I wore Rhett and Brooks went from house to house collecting things that he didn’t even know existed. Haha. Seriously though, I thought he would maybe go to a couple houses and be over it, but he had a blast running from house to house. He even carried his bucket the whole time! Usually he wears the bucket on his head, so I was surprised he put his candy in it and carried it around all night.

He is the cutest!!! I’m so glad we had some family fun tonight...it’s a night I won’t forget!

Check out this photo from last Halloween!...

Pistol Pete! The cutest Pistol Pete!!

Happy Halloween!!!!

Rhett's Third Week

It's amazing how a baby can fit so perfectly into your family! Rhett is the perfect addition and it’s honestly hard to remember life before him. I’m sure we got out of the house a little faster, I changed way less diapers, I got a little more sleep, but it’s hard to remember life without him. Thank you Jesus for this sweet surprise in our life!

Here is our life in photos of week 3.

Snuggles

I’m so thankful for a good sleeper.

This is Brooks intentionally rolling things under the entertainment center so then he can say “help please” and have me help him get the toys. Ha!

My double stroller came in! I love it!

Melt my heart! <3

Is he not the cutest!!!

On Thursday we went to the Tulsa Botanic Gardens. This was our date night with the kiddos. We had such a great time!

I love them so much!!!

So sweet!

Getting to hang out with these two is my dream job!

This onesie is too cute not to show off! ;)

My little book worm!

Friday night...both babies asleep in their crib! ;)

Watching the Cowboys play...or sleeping through it. Haha!

Brooks loves to wear this bucket on his head!

Goodness, he is precious!

Rhett Michael, you are precious! We love you so much and can’t remember life before you. You have the sweetest demeanor. You rarely cry, but when you do there is something instantly that can be done to fix it and you stop crying. You are a great sleeper which we are so thankful for! Brooks is slowly warming up and it’s so sweet to see you two together. If your lose you hat, Brooks will bring it to you. If your bump cloth is laying on a different couch or on the floor, Brooks will bring it to you. If you are laying down on your play mat, Brooks wants to come and join. It is so sweet! I can’t wait to see your relationship bloom over time...but, for now, I’m loving the newborn stage. Yes, even the middle of the night feedings.

October Date Nights

I was a little nervous how having a second baby would affect date night, but it hasn’t been an issue at all. We are still dating right along. ;) After a year of this though, I’m having trouble coming up with original creative ideas...if you have any ideas, please share them with me!!

Here goes October!

October 5th: We built a barn door. I doubt many people will say they built a barn door for date night, haha! But, we did. The first barn door we built was supposed to go on our room, but we must have measured wrong and/or our floor is slightly uneven, because there were some issues. We couldn’t slide the door because it was hitting the floor in a few places. So, we were in a hurry to get another door built before baby #2 was born so we could have a bedroom door. Therefore, we built our 2nd barn door for date night.

This was the first door we built...for some reason I don’t have a picture of the 2nd. But, they look identical. ;)

October 12th: We moved this date day to the 13th. Trevor was home this whole week because we had Rhett that Monday. I had been wanting to take Brooks to the zoo for awhile, but I hated being in the heat when I was pregnant. So I thought the perfect time to go to the zoo would be when Trevor was home for paternity leave and make it a family event. We had a great time!

October 19th: We got both boys to sleep in their cribs and we sat down to write a family mission statement. We have talked about wanting to do this for awhile, so I was glad Trevor got the ball rolling and made it a date night. It’s still kind of a work in progress, so I will share once we have something more complete.

October 26th: We went to the Tulsa Botanic Gardens. This was kind of a last minute plan, but it worked out perfectly. They are open late on Thursdays and in October the have live music. The weather was absolutely beautiful so I packed us some PBJ’s, picked Trevor up from work and the 4 of us made the trek. It was a great family outing.

I’m so glad we didn’t skip a beat even with the arrival of baby #2! We have been pretty busy the last few months with wrapping up the house, and I’m glad that we have found a healthy balance with dedicating some date nights to house DIY stuff but also knowing when we need a break from that. I have also loved the family outings this month. I know date night is supposed to be for me and Trevor, but sometimes it’s nice to have an excuse to get the whole family out and about. I’m looking forward to November!
