Weekend Update!!!

My weekend was cut a little short because I ended up having to work today, but that didn't stop us from having friends in town and having a good time!!

This weekend my friend, who was also my maid of honor in my wedding a couple months ago, came in town with her boyfriend. She lives in Shreveport and her boyfriend lives in Atlanta, so they made quite a trip to be here for just a couple days!! Trevor and I hadn't seen them since the wedding, so we were excited to get to hang out with them at a less stressful time. They got in town Friday evening, and we ended up going down on the Branson Landing and having some dinner and drinks at Old Chicago! This is basically our go to place when friends come in town because we absolutely LOVE their food! We actually just ate there two days prior to this as well because my uncle and his family were in town for a few days. But anyway, we ended up having dinner and hanging out there for quite awhile and then we just went back to our apartment and hung out.

The next day we ended up going shopping for a bit and I got this...
I have been looking at this wallet for a couple weeks now, so I finally just broke down and bought it! I love it!! and it was at the Fossil outlet, so I feel like I got a deal! ;)

After we went shopping, we ended up going on the Branson Belle Showboat, where they have dinner and a show! Because Trevor and I work for Silver Dollar City, we both get to bring a guest and get a discounted price! So all together we ended up paying $50 instead of $240! Can't complain there! Here are a couple pictrues from that night...

The 4 of us!

Best Friend

BRANSON BELLE
Before you look at these next two pictures, I must warn you...one of them is from a LONG time ago!!! So Trevor and I came to Branson with my parents and grandparents about 5 or 6 years ago and we came to the Branson Belle Showboat. I remember taking this one picture a long time ago, so we decided to do a little re-enactment! So here it is...
junior or senior year of high school!!

present day!
After the Showboat, we went down to the landing again and hung out down there for a bit and then we went putt putt golfing, or miniture golf as some people call it! (The reason I say that is because the first time we came to this place to golf, we called it putt putt. The people at the front desk got really offended and said that this was a real sport and it is called miniture golf!! They even told us that they hold the United States Miniture Golf Associate tournament there, which is on ESPN, so apparently it is a big deal!) So never again will I make the mistake of calling this "sport" putt putt again. We had a deal going that who ever got the highest score, guys vs girls, would get something special, whatever they wanted. GIRLS WON of course!! ;) I haven't decided what I want yet!

Today, Nichole, Josh and Trevor all came out to the park, Silver Dollar City, to see me perform. Today was a CRAZY day though. First off, we were down to only 2 Saloon girls because all the others were out of town. So it was just me and a girl named Rachel. Well Rachel couldn't really dance today because she did something to her back. So we had to tweak the show a little, which wasn't too big of a deal. Well by the third show, my voice was COMPLETELY gone!! (This is because my lovely husband decided to put the air condition 4 degrees cooler than what we usually keep it on at night, so I woke up having a really sore throat and not feeling well!) So we had to tweak the show even more to cut my scene. We finished the day strong though!! And luckily, Nichole, Josh and Trevor got to watch a show that I was singing in.

Hope everyone has a relaxing Sunday!!! My amazing husband made me a fabulous dinner that is making my mouth water as we speak (I type!) Goodnight!!!

My Poor Baby

So, as many of you know I have the sweetest puppy in the world named Winston. He was a gift to me from Trevor for Valentines Day/my 21st Birthday!! Aside from Trevor, he is the love of my life!! ;)

Since moving to Branson in March I have always let Winston run around my apartment while I am at work. I shut all the bedroom and bathroom doors, so really he just gets to run around the kitchen and living room; but it is a big play area for him. Well when Trevor moved here, we both went to work and he decided to be a bad dog and he ate the plug-in cord to our external hard drive! Bad bad dog!! So, needless to say, Trevor makes him stay in his kennel on days that we both work. Well I think he got really bored so he started licking his paw. Doesn't seem like a big deal, but he licked it so much to where there is no hair left on his paw and it has turned purple and black. We decided to let him start running around the house again, thinking this might be more exciting and he might stop licking his paw so much. We also started giving him Benedryl, because that usually does the trick for every other problem with him, but he just kept licking to where it is scabbed over now. Poor little thing!!! So Trevor decided to take him to the vet this morning and we found out he has a fungus infection in his paw!! We got some pills for him and some cream to put on it; but we can already tell he does not like us putting the cream on his foot! But we have to do what we have to do! I'll keep you updated, but hopefully we can nip this fungus thing in the butt! He seems to be doing a little better already!!

Have a Happy Friday!!!!

Bragging About My Husband!

First and foremost, I LOVE my HUSBAND!!! He is someone who makes my life like a fairytale...hence the title of this Blog! ;)

Sidenote: For those of you that don't know, Trevor and I have been dating since December of 2004 which was our Junior year of High School! I can honestly say he is truly my best friend in the whole world and someone that knows me inside and out! ..I'm pretty sure he knows me better than I know myself!

Although there are a million things I can brag about with him, I will stick to things that have happened since our wedding!
Ever since we got married and he moved to Branson to be with me for the summer he has by far been the BEST husband in the world. Like mentioned in a previous post, I am working full time here in Branson where he is just working part time until his big boy job starts in Tulsa. Well every morning, whether he has to work or not he is up making me breakfast! It usually consists of eggs and sausage, but sometimes he breaks out and does chocolate chip waffles or something fun like that!
Since I work most of the day, and am on my feet all day, I absolutely hate going to walmart after work. So he has taken the liberty of doing all grocery shopping. Even if I need make up or something, I will send him a picture of it and he will find it and buy it for me! I'm really going to miss this treatment when he leaves!
He also loves making dinner....I wouldn't say he likes making anything, but he absolutely LOVES to grill. So he is always experimenting with new things while grilling, which always makes for a tasty dinner!
Another great thing about having a "house husband" as I call it is, he does a LOT of cleaning!!! Most of the time I don't even have to ask! I will come home to a spotless house! It is just amazing!!

I can only joke about being the breadwinner for so long...and then the tables will turn and I will get to return all these small and amazing favors that he has done for me!

I also have to brag about his smarts!! I am so proud of him because he recently found out that he passed all 4 parts of the CPA his first time around!! Whoop Whoop!!!! I am one proud wifey!!! ;)

OLD PICTURE!!!! This was taken our senior year of high school!!!!

Taken a couple months ago at my Bridal Shower

Taken recently, walking aroud Vegas!
I hope I haven't made too many wifes out there jealous!!! I am truly blessed!!!

Viva Las Vegas!!!

As a wedding gift, Trevor's cousin TJ gave us a trip to Las Vegas for a weekend! We haven't had too many weekends alone since the wedding, so we thought this past weekend would be the perfect opportunity to go!

Let me just preface this story by saying that Trevor and I have had horrible luck in Vegas...not with gambling or anything like that, just the events that happen when we go there...for example: Last time we went we drove there, so we ended up being stuck in traffic the majority of the time going there. We drove through every different variation of whether, and we ended up sitting in traffic for 4 hours just to cross Hoover Dam. We were mighty excited when we finally got there! While there, the other couple we were with broke up, so it was just bad news while we were there. And then on the way home, we ended up getting hit by a snow storm, the highway closed down, every hotel was booked, so we ended up having to stay in a shelter and sleep on cots! We eventually made it home and now it makes a great story. Needless to say, we were anxious to see what this Vegas trip had in store for us!

First up, we flew out of Springfield, MO. This is an airport that neither Trevor or I had been to, so we were a little out of our element. We ended up going to the wrong airport (the old airport) because our GPS was not familiar with the new one yet. Luckily, we were running a little early, so it didn't set us back too much.

We had a layover in Denver and our plane ended up getting delayed for 3 hours, so we sat at a little sports bar in the Denver airport for a long time!
Next up, when we finally got to Vegas, 3 hours late, we were told that a limo would pick us up. Well because of the huge delay, our driver was not there to pick us up! About 30 minutes later, he finally showed up! It was definitely exciting to have VIP service, even if we had to wait awhile! Trevor and I are pretty easy going, so we weren't that upset about it being late...plus, not trying to be a pessimist, but it was just funny to us because we got to add it to our list of bad luck things that happen to us on Vegas vacations!

We finally made it to the hotel! And it was AMAZING! We stayed at The Cosmopolitan and it was just perfect! We had never seen this hotel before, but it is definitely my favorite one on the strip now!

Once we got to the hotel and got checked in, we realized that we got a room that had two queen beds! It's just a funny thought to have two queen beds in your hotel room after you're married! Plus, we really look forward to King sized beds on vacation because we have a queen at home, and when you add a little dog to the mix, there is not much extra room in a queen bed! But I have to say our room was amazing!...and our view was even better! We got to look right over the Bellagio fountains!
That night we ended up going over to the Palms so we could go to a couple clubs there, Moon and Playboy. First we walked the strip for a bit; then we caught a cab to take us over to Palms. Both the clubs were really nice...Usually these clubs have huge lines and cost a lot to get in, but of course Trevor's cousin knew someone that hooked us up, so we got to be in the VIP line and get in for free!! Not too bad!

The next morning we finally both got to sleep in! I feel like I have not had a good sleep in, in forever! We woke up at 11 Vegas time, so we basically slept in until 1:00pm home time! That day we decided to get ready, have some lunch, ride the roller coaster at New York New York, and then head back to our hotel to hang out at the pool. Trevor has been wanting to ride this roller coaster since the last time we came, so I'm really glad we got to do it this time! It was actually very fun! But I'm not picky when it comes to things like that, I love roller coasters and anything like that. We walked around for a little bit after that since we knew this was our only DAY in Vegas. I absolutely love the hotel City Center. So we went into Aria for a little while and walked around. My favorite place there is a cake place named Jean Phillipe (That name may be spelled wrong), but he does AMAZING cakes and I just like to walk by and look at them!
We finally got back to our hotel and decided we wanted to go swimming. We heard the Boulevard Pool was really fun at our hotel, so we walked all the way across the hotel to find out that it was closed due to them having a concert there that evening. (just add that to our bad luck! lol!) So we walked back over to the pool in our tower called Bamboo Pool and hung out there for a bit!

I took this picture later that evening, because when we went down there, it was REALLY crowded!
After we hung out at the pool for a bit we decided to go to the Viva Las Vegas, Elvis show which is one of the Cirque shows! The show was in Aria so we went and had dinner at Jean Georges, a steakhouse in Aria and then went over to the show! It was a great show! Trevor and I both like Elvis, so of course we would like it! But the dancing was really great to watch and they had some great effects!

After the show we went right back to the hotel because the next morning was going to be an early one! We got up at 6 the next morning so we could get to the airport and catch our plane by 8. This time we had a layover in Denver and of course you know what happens next...we got delayed! About 3 hours later and a gate change, we finally boarded our plane to head home!!

Overall it was such a great trip! Trevor and I really enjoyed getting away and just spending time with each other! We definitely spent wayyyyyy to much! ...but who doesn't in Vegas! ;)

Movies I've Seen Lately

Trevor and I have gone to a few movies lately and we have received some through netflix. Some have been great and others have been okay. First up, we went to Springfield a few weeks back to go shopping and decided to see a movie while we were there...
We went and saw Bad Teacher. We definitely were not impressed! There was so much hype about it, we were really excited to see it...but it turned out to be predictable and not very entertaining. I defiintely don't recommend it! Cameron Diaz is a hit or miss for me though. Some movies she is in I really enjoy and others I don't care for.

Next up...Horrible Bosses

ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS!!! I highly recommend it! When I first saw previews for this movie, I thought it would be okay and I would probably wait to rent it at Redbox, but I kept hearing great reviews on the movie, so me, Trevor, and a girl from work decided to go and see it one day after work. Like I said before, you don't want to miss this. I was laughing the entire time!

This past Sunday, Trevor and I had a movie day. Ever since we got married we have been really busy every weekend and have either been out of town or we have people staying with us. So we have been anxious to have a day all to ourselves. We finally were alone Sunday evening, so we rented Gnomeo and Juliet...

So cute! I am usually not one to watch animated movies, I never really liked them as a kid either, but this one was very cute. Trevor has been wanting to see it for awhile, so he finally got his wish! We have already guessed that they will make a sequel and it will be about them having purple kids! lol! ;)

We then got on our netflix account and wanted to watch another movie instantly. I had never seen the movie 8 Seconds, and everyone said it was good...so that was next!...

Such a great movie! It is based on a true story about a bull rider from Oklahoma. I have to say, the ending was a little sad, but I still really enjoyed the movie! If you haven't seen it, I recommend it!

I feel like there are a lot of great movies coming out soon, and I am excited to see them! One that I am VERY anxious to see is The Vow!

It has two of my favorite actors and actresses in it...Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams. It doesn't come out until February, so I will just have to wait awhile!

That's all for now!!! Have a great Tuesday night!

HOT HOT DAY!

Here is my place of work...
The Silver Dollar City Saloon show! Our air conditioning has been out for almost 2 weeks now and we are miserable!!! I was sure that after having 2 days off this weekend, today it would be back to working...but it wasn't. It was even hotter today because instead of just having one a/c unit broke, they were both broke. So we decided to cancel the first 2 shows because they said they could have atleast one unit fixed this morning.

Since we were just sitting around for 2 hours, we decided to take advantage of the park and ride some rides...so we first decided to ride Powder Keg.
When we got to the front gate, they were closed. So we decided to ride their only other large roller coaster, Wildfire...

When we got to the front gate of Wildfire, it was closed as well. I felt bad for all the people that came out to the park today because the only 2 large roller coasters were down and the Saloon show was canceled...I'm sure they had some angry people on park today.

We then decided to go and ride the Giant Barn Swing...
It was atleast open, so we were able to ride one ride before going back to the Saloon to get ready for shows. We ended up doing the 3rd, 4th, and 5th show, but it was definitely HOT!!! Pray that we have our air fixed by tomorrow!!! Or it will be a HOT HOT HOT DAY!

Family Time

This weekend, Trevor's mom and stepdad came in town to visit us. His mom's sister and her family were also in Branson staying at Big Cedar, so we also got to see them as well.
On Friday night, Trevor's mom and stepdad, Vanessa and Tony, got in town around 8:00 and we decided to go eat at Old Chicago. On the way there, we saw this chalk design on the sidewalk but didn't really think much about it. We just thought it was an odd place to have blocked off because there was a drawing with chalk on the ground. After we ate we were walking back to the car and saw this chalk design again. As we were walking by, someone told us to look at it through a camera because it looks 3D! They weren't lying...it was so neat looking...
Soon, there was a huge crowd around this thing. Very creative!

On Saturday, we went out on the boat with Trevor's mom's sister's family! I was really happy because we didn't go out til after 4 so that means no sunburn for me! (Sidenote: I am half Dutch, so any chance of me just getting a pretty sun tan is out of the question! Usually, I will look like a lobster at the end of the day and hurt EXTREMELY bad!! I also hate the smell of Aloe, so I hate putting that on my sunburn! Problems all around! haha!). So again, I was really happy when we didn't go out until 4:00. Here are some pictures taken...

Trevor's cousins tubing

Trevor tubing...he is an expert at all water sports! I, on the other hand, am NOT!

So funny...These ducks were swarming us....I think they thought we had food.

Overall, it was a great weekend!!! Now off to go shopping!

What a Wonderful Weekend!

This past weekend was definitely fun and unique!! This year with my job, I got lucky and got Saturdays and Sundays off. These are usually really busy days out at Silver Dollar City, but since we all have to take days off, I got the random draw of getting Saturdays and Sundays off. This works out great with Trevor living here, because we are able to go to weddings and get out of town for different functions on the weekends!

This particular weekend we had to go back to Tulsa for a wedding. Since Tulsa is much closer to Stillwater than Branson, I decided to go ahead and get my hair done back in Stillwater on Saturday morning! I decided I needed a change...as if getting married wasn't a big enough change in the last month! I have NEVER had short hair in my life, and it just sounded like fun...

Before...

After!!!!

Like I said...I have never had short hair before, but I think I am going to like it! I have to wear a fall (kind of like a wig) everyday at work, so my hair is always back in a pony tail, so this is definitely easier to manage!

Saturday evening was our good friends, Sarah and Brandon's wedding.

With the Groom!

With the Bride!

It was a beautiful wedding and we were glad we could be there to support our friends!!! Once you have planned a wedding, you have so much more appreciation for someone else's wedding and all that goes into it!

On Sunday we hung out with family and then headed home!! Overall, it was a great weekend and we got to see and hang out with a lot of friends from back home!! ;)

Playing Catch up...

So just to catch you up on what has been going on in our lives...
I graduated Dec. 2010 and started working out at Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO. This is something that I did last summer and really enjoyed it, so I decided to come back for one more year.

Trevor graduated with his Masters in May 2011. He even got to walk with Garth Brooks!!! How exciting!! I was a little bummed because I had to miss graduation because of work...but I am still VERY proud of him!!

After he graduated, we had about a month before the wedding, so Trevor started moving a lot of his stuff to Branson, since that is where we will be for a few months after the wedding.

One June 4, 2011 we finally tied the knot! We have been dating since December 2004...so after 6 & 1/2 years, we thought we were finally ready!!!

After the wedding, we honeymooned in Mexico at Secrets Maroma Beach! It was absolutely amazing! We could not have asked for a better week!
After our amazing week of relaxation, it was back to work! Before we left on vacation, my boss had informed me that a position at Silver Dollar City was available for the summer, and if Trevor wanted the job, it was all his! So when we got back to Branson and got settled, I continued to work in the Saloon show and Trevor now works a couple days a week as the Saloon Show crowd control. It is really nice because we get to have lunch together on the days that he is on park as well. Since Trevor starts his big boy job soon, he is enjoying only working a couple days a week and having the other days to relax and enjoy the summer!

Future Plans: Trevor starts his accounting job in Tulsa early August at Ernst and Young; so he will be heading back to Tulsa then. I will be in Branson atleast until October and possibly through December! Still waiting to hear word on that! We will be apart for awhile, but it will make moving back in together that much more exciting!! And we are really enjoying the time together right now!!!

Hope everyone has a splended Thursday!!!

First Timer!

I'm very excited to get this thing going. It is something that I have wanted to do for a long time. I have the worst memory in the world at times, so I have always kept a diary of some sort, or I have pictures of everything I do to document my life! I think I am really going to enjoy blogging! I have hopes that people will enjoy reading it and it will be a great way to document the little things we do! Being newlyweds, we are enjoying life so much right now and couldn't ask for more! Talk to ya soon!!
