Birthday Celebrations!!

I don't know if I have ever felt so loved in my entire life! It started off two weekends ago when friends came in town to visit!! Such a fun weekend! Last Tuesday was my actual birthday, so Monday night Trevor gave me my gift. We already got each other sunglasses for our birthdays, but Trevor surprised me with this...
I LOVE it!!! Such a math teacher gift!

On Tuesday after work we went out to dinner with my family at the Cheesecake Factory. Yum!!

After dinner when we got home I got a text saying school was canceled Wednesday! Snow Day and Happy Birthday!! I was so excited to sleep in! I actually got a double birthday gift because school ended up being canceled Thursday as well!! On Friday we did have school and then after, we had a birthday celebration with friends! We started out at El Guapo downtown. We had a group of about 20 people! Thank you to everyone who came out, I truly cherish your friendship!! We then headed to the Max and Legends!

Such a fun night!!!

On Saturday we had a few plans in he morning and afternoon, but for dinner we headed to Trevor's dad's house to celebrate with them. It's also Trevor's Grandmamas birthday and his Aunts birthday, so we had a triple celebration! On Sunday, we had Trevor's mom's side of the family over to our house for lunch and did a little cook out! Plus, we had this amazing cake!!

I love getting to see friends and family and we are so fortunate that we live in the same city as our family so we get to celebrate with everyone! We also have the best friends in the entire world!! I can't thank you all enough for making me feel so special!! 27 is going to be an amazing year!!

I Love When Friends Visit

Trevor and I LOVE having company, especially when they are some of your very best friends!! On Friday my very best friend, Nichole and her boyfriend Stephen, flew into Tulsa. When they got in town we came back to our house and let them get settled in and we just spent some time catching up. When lunch time rolled around we took Nichole and Stephen to Main Street Tavern on BA Main Street. As always, it was delicious! We didn't have much planned for Friday other than to hang out, so we came back to our house and got in the hot tub for a bit! It was really neat because it was snowing basically all day Friday and Saturday, so we were in the hot tub while it was snowing...it was so pretty! We then watched the Voice. We all watch it normally, but no one had watched it from that week, so we got caught up. That night we grilled out. It was definitely interesting in the snow! Trevor pulled the grill up right by the back door and stood inside while working the grill. I wish I would have gotten a picture of that! We had a delicious dinner of steak, asparagus, corn on the cob and cheddar bay biscuits. YUM! After dinner we got our Ping-Pong table set up in the garage and borrowed our neighbors amazing heater that literally heated our garage in about 15 minutes! We played some Ping-Pong and Darts. We were definitely all pretty good competition for each other.

Later Friday night our neighbors Randy and Cassie came over to play Battle of the Sexes. We were pretty even until Cassie left, then the girls fell apart!

The next morning we all slept in...well Nichole and Stephen slept in a little later than us, so Trevor and I decided to sneak in a little binge watching of House of Cards (so excited the third season just came out!!). Once everyone got up and around, we decided to battle the snow...

We headed to Cherry Street to eat some brunch at Smoke. We went from starving to completely stuffed in about 10 minutes! I just love their Chicken and Waffles!
With the snow and crazy weather, we decided we wanted a, relaxing on the couch, kind of afternoon. We decided to watch a movie on Netflix and it was terrible, along with most Netflix movies. We watched Labor Day, and I definitely recommend not watching it! The boys planned it all pretty well though, because the movie got over just in time to watch the OSU game. When the OSU game got over it was time to head to the Warren Theatre! Trevor and I had not yet been there, so we decided to try it out when Nichole and Stephen were in town. We ended up getting tickets to Focus in the balcony.

We had a server and were able to order food and drinks. We definitely took in the whole experience with dinner, drinks, popcorn and dessert! I absolutely LOVED the whole experience! I don't know if I will go to a "normal" theatre ever again!

That night we battled it out on the Ping-Pong table and dart board again. It was a fun way to wrap up the weekend! I just LOVED that one of my best friends took the time to come and see me for my birthday! Nichole, thank you for always being a GREAT friend to me!!

On Sunday, Trevor and I just had a lazy day! We took Nichole and Stephen to the airport, luckily their flight made it out on time even with all of the snow and crazy weather. We then went and ate breakfast with Trevor's dad and picked out some of their clothes to take on our ski trip. We then came home and watched more House of Cards! We literally spent the whole day watching except when we were at church! Seriously a lazy and unproductive day! Just what I like some times!!

Valentine's Day Weekend

Since we just did our big trip to Beaver Lake the weekend before, we thought we would keep it low key for actual Valentine's Day. That afternoon we went up to my school to use the gym and play basketball. We hadn't just shot around in awhile, so we thought it would be fun. We played Horse and Around the World, then we played one-on-one which was interesting. I was so tired after just an hour of shooting around!! Goodness, I need to get in shape! It was mainly my back that hurt, well, that and my arms, legs, etc! :)
We then went home and got ready for the evening. Trevor has been asking me what I want for my birthday and I told him I want a nice pair of sunglasses. He actually said he wanted the same thing! (We tend to do that...last year we both got a new pair of boots!) This always seems to work out in Trevor's favor because his birthday is almost 2 months after mine, and he always gets his birthday present when I get mine! I think he plans these things! We decided to go look at sunglasses before we went to dinner. Well, looking turned into buying! (We also tend to do that...give each other gifts WAY early! ) Then we headed to dinner! We ate at Cafe Ole on Brookside! It was delish! Then we headed to the concert. Trevor loves Josh Abbott Band, so when we found out they were coming to Cain's on V-Day, I knew Trevor would want to go. I like Josh Abbott, he's just not my favorite. But, it was definitely a good concert and I know Trevor had a great time! The opening act was pretty good too! I really enjoyed him...his name was Hudson Moore!

The next morning we got up and made Red Velvet pancakes! They were amazing!!

I also celebrated my one year with LifeChurch! It has been such an amazing experience singing there every weekend, and the musicians there are so kind hearted and so talented!
I hope everyone had a loving Valentine's Day!!💝

Weekend Getaway!

I have been looking forward to this trip for about a month and it was beyond my expectations!!

What triggered this getaway, you might be asking? Trevor and I read a book called The Circle Maker with our LifeGroup last month and it really sparked something in us! Here is a snippet of what the book is about: "Drawing prayer circles around our dreams isn't just a mechanism whereby we accomplish great things for God. It's a mechanism whereby God accomplishes great things in us. Do you ever sense that there's far more to prayer, and God's vision for your life, than what you're experiencing? What impossibly big dream is God calling you to draw a prayer circle around?" That was basically the back of the book cover. Towards the end of the book, the author, Mark Batterson, shared his goals. If you don't have big dreams or big goals than you probably do not have anything to pray circles around. That's when we realized we wanted to make life goals. We probably didn't need an expensive cabin on a lake to do it, but we felt like if this was going to be the start of something big, we wanted the perfect ambiance to do it in! And that is exactly what we got!!

We left Tulsa Friday after we both got off work and headed to Arkansas. I knew it was going to be beautiful when we pulled in and this was our view...
Seriously, so beautiful!!

When we arrived we got checked in and settled in.

Once we got settled in we headed into Eureka Springs for dinner. We ate dinner at a Mexican restaurant called Amigos. Then we headed back to our cabin for the night.

On Saturday we slept in a bit and just slowly got our morning started. This was what I woke up to...

We brewed some coffee and we brought stuff to make banana bread. After we got up and around we decided to make our goals! From that point forward we went back to them several times throughout the rest of the weekend, but this is when we spent the bulk of the time on them.

We made some lunch, avocado, pineapple, and chicken quesadillas. Delish! After lunch OSU was playing, so of course I let Trevor watch the game! I read my book while he was watching! It was so beautiful outside that we just opened up the door and let all the natural air in! It was seriously perfect weather!!

After the game we went down to the dock where they have indoor fishing, a paddle boat, boats to rent, etc! We just kind of sat on the dock and enjoyed the atmosphere!

That evening we went to the front office and got a couple movies. We ended up watching Lone Survivor. Definitely not the most romantic of movies, but we both wanted to watch it.

After the movie we cooked some dinner! Trevor grilled some steaks and I make asparagus, mashed potatoes and cheddar bay biscuits! Everything was amazing! I loved spending the whole day in the cabin and not leaving! Sometimes you just need one of those days!!

The next morning we, again, slowly got up and around! We drank some coffee, ate some breakfast and enjoyed each other's company! We also made a new friend!

I was definitely a little sad to leave!
It was definitely a weekend to remember!!

Before we left Arkansas, we headed to Eureka Springs for some brunch. We ate brunch at Local Flavor and then drove around the town! Next time we will actually walk around and enjoy it, but that day we just drove around. We even drove up to see the largest Jesus statue.

Such an amazing trip!! I definitely think we will be visiting Beaver Lakefront Cabins again!! And I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a little get away!! So romantic! I am also so excited for the goals that we have set!! Some of them are really going to challenge us and I can't wait!! I truly think these will make us so much stronger as a couple! I also think it will bring us closer than we've ever been! I am just loving this life of ours!

The Automobile Chronicles (Part 2)

You can view The Automobile Chronicles (Part 1) here!!

We are so excited about our new car!!
To be completely honest, it was very bittersweet! I absolutely LOVED my Jeep Wrangler, and I wasn't completely sure on the thought of giving it up, but when it came down to it, we decided to trade it in!

Oh the Golden Goddess...
I loved loved loved my jeep!! That was the first car I owned and I always knew I would have another one. I still have that mind set. I know I will have another one, one day! We have had this jeep awhile, so there are lots of great memories from it, but I think my favorite was this past summer. I think it was a Sunday evening and the weather was just PERFECT. We had the top off (perfect for being a teacher because we usually left the top off all summer!) and we just wanted to go driving around. We put our favorite songs on and just drove around. It was just a fun, almost surreal evening. I can't even explain it, but when we were driving I just felt like everything in the world was perfect and in place! That might have been one of the last times we drove around with the top off!

Now onto the HONDA PILOT! A friend of mine was in the car with us when we bought it and said "from Golden Goddess to Snow White" and it stuck!! I love my new Snow White!!
I am loving driving it so far...my favorite part: HEATED SEATS!! I'm also loving XM Radio!! I don't think I knew what I was missing!!

GARTH!!

We, along with 98% of the people in Tulsa, got tickets to GARTH BROOKS!!! Trevor saw him some 17 years ago when he was a kid and always tells me that that was his favorite concert! So, of course we had to go this time!! There might not be another opportunity! We went this past Friday night and our tickets were really good (thanks Bullocks)! We ate dinner at our friends, Andrew and Katie's before the concert. We figured trying to go out to eat would be a little hectic, so we got take out from Ted's and then headed to the concert!

Waiting patiently!!

I'm not sure I heard much of Garth singing because Trevor was singing so loud in my ear! I'm just glad he was loving it!!

Garth and Trisha!

We got this picture thanks to the selfie-stick!! And of course, Trevor was too busy singing to pay any attention to a photo being taken!

SERIOUSLY, ONE OF THE BEST CONCERTS I'VE BEEN TO!! If you didn't get a chance to see him, I would recommend traveling to his next concert city! I loved that he seemed so humble and that each night he slightly changed a couple of the songs that he did! So neat!!

The New Year!

This year has started off on a great note! We have been busy busy busy in a good way! We have gotten to see several friends, we have had nights in where we fell asleep at 8:30 and we have had nights where we stayed out til 3!

On January 2nd we hosted the bowl game party at our house (the Cactus Bowl). We made a couple dips and people brought some yummy treats over as well! I can't believe we pulled out a win!! GO COWBOYS!! I think it had something to do with me and Trevor wearing pants America's brightest Orange!

On Saturday we made kind of a last minute trip to OKC to see one of Trevor's friends who is leaving for the military soon. We wanted to hang out with him one last time before he left. I was also so excited because I got to see one of my best friends that night!
Love you Meredith!!

When we got in town we went to our friend Butcher's to get ready and then we went to Tapwerks for some foosball and pool.

Then we headed to KDs for dinner! Trevor has been wanting to eat there since it opened, so his dream finally came true!! We had chicken and waffles! Delish!!

After dinner we went to the Wormy Dog Saloon. JB and the Moonshine Band was playing. We danced a little and the guys played more pool.

Love these guys!

We stayed up way to late making great memories! Good luck Rhett!

This past week was my first week back at school. It was honestly a great first week back. I have an intern this semester, so that will be a learning experience for the both of us!

This weekend was definitely a relaxing one. On Friday night I must have just been so tired from the whole week, I fell asleep at 7:30 and didn't wake up until 10 the next morning! Now that is a good nights sleep! On Saturday we got up and ran a few errands, then it was off to Stillwater! We bought basketball tickets and we're so excited to go since we hadn't been to one since college.

It was such a good game against Texas! Luckily, toward the end of the game we broke away with a pretty good lead and ended up comfortably winning! GO POKES!!!

Our LifeGroup leaders gave us an awesome Christmas present. It was a mason jar filled with popsicle sticks. Each popsicle stick has a date/activity written on it. We decided to pull one out this weekend and we got "bowling". So we decided to go with our friends Shelby and Chapman after the OSU game. We had so much fun talking and hanging out with these two!

What a great start to the new year!! Next up: GARTH BROOKS!!
