Life Since Michigan

WOW! Time is flying!! I seriously can't keep up! Since we got back from Michigan life has been pretty school focused, so there is definitely less time to be crafty/blog/etc! But here is goes!

We had to come home early from Michigan because I had some coaches meetings that I had to attend. Since I am pretty clueless of the cheer world, it was great to go to these seminars and it was fun getting to hang out with the other BA cheer coaches!
Loved hanging out with these ladies! It's definitely going to be a fun year!
That Friday Trevor and I were so excited because we finally paid off the Golden Goddess!!! Dave Ramsey would be so proud!!!

That weekend Trevor had planned a bachelor party for our good friend Tyler Schwartz! They went golfing in the afternoon, went to dinner that evening, and then went out for the night...such a great pic of them!

The next week I had several meetings and also got to go up to my new school and start to getting things organized! Here are a couple photos of my new classroom (this was just the beginning of decorating!)

That Thursday night Trevor and I went to the Guthrie Green Movie Night in the Park and watched Back to the Future! I forgot how pretty pointless that movie was...but it was still fun to watch an oldie!

We finally got our OSU tickets in!!! I cannot wait until Football Season!!! 10 days until OSU's first game!!! WAHOOOO!!!

That weekend was all about me and Trevor! For our anniversary, Trevor gave me a "coupon book." It has all sorts of things in there for me (for example: dinner date night, movie date night, jewelry of my choice, washing of both puppies, 30 minute back massage...) SERIOUSLY THE BEST GIFT EVER! Well, one of the "coupons" was for a day all about ME! I could choose whatever I wanted US to do for an entire day! We woke up, ate my FAV breakfast *coffee and doughnuts* and then went shopping. I wanted to do some back to school shopping, so I decided this was a good day to do that! We had pretty much finished shopping by lunch time and so I chose to go to my favorite restaurant *Ricardos!* After lunch we went HOT TUB SHOPPING!! We will be purchasing one soon, so we decided to go and look and see what all is out there. That night we rented the movie 42. Lifechurch did a sermon on this movie during their At the Movie series and we had been wanting to watch it since then! It was really good! I would recommend it to anyone! That night we just ate some ice cream and popcorn and called it a day! I loved just getting time to spend with my husband! We are seriously so busy most of the time that we really just needed a day just him and me!

That Sunday we went shooting at Trevor's mom's land. We invited several of our friends and just made an afternoon of it!

The next week consisted of more meetings! Since I am a new employee at BA, I had to go to all of their New Teacher Orientation stuff! That Friday night we got to go to the Driller's game with some friends! The Drillers had a couple good plays, but they pretty well got their butts kicked!
That Saturday, my cheerleaders had a carwash all day! Luckily, I have a husband that likes to grill, so I had him come and grill hot dogs for all of our supporters that used our code! Speaking of, this is a year around fundraiser, so you...yes YOU...can help us out! If you live in the Tulsa/Broken Arrow area and are looking to get your car washed, go to Legends! When you get to the screen, click on Fundraiser Code and type in 1056! Every carwash that you get, we will receive 20% of the profits!

On Saturday night we had a popcorn/House of Cards nights! We have seriously been addicted to House of Cards since about mid-summer and we finally finished the first 2 seasons! If you are looking for a good show, head on over to Netflix and watch House of Cards!! The puppies really enjoyed it too...well the popcorn that is!

Speaking of our pups, they have just been a mess this week! We had to take Whiskey to the vet because he was getting weird scabs on his head and ears! Turns out he has dermatitis welts! He must be allergic to something in the air, so he has started breaking out! So now he is on some meds and special shampoo! Then, Winston started throwing up one morning and the day didn't get much better for him. So I then took him to the vet and well, he is having some separation anxiety and since I have been gone a lot more (with school starting and me having to go to meetings), he basically is having so much anxiety that he is making himself sick! Seriously, if that is not pitiful I don't know what is!

This week has consisted of more meetings! I seriously am so excited for this school year to start! I have officially met everyone that I will be working with and I just know it is going to be a great year! Everyone is so friendly and positive!!

Last week was our yearly family reunion in Holland, MI. Since Trevor and I got married we have decided to go every other year, and this year was our year to make the trip! It normally is just a relaxing vacation on the beach and a lot of quality family time! This year was no different, other than we got a bit of rain and a cold day.

Trevor and I left Friday evening and drove through the night.
Isn't this just the cutest picture of them getting some shut eye! :)
We arrived in Michigan at about 9:30 in the morning and slept for a few hours at my grandpa's house. I couldn't sleep, so I snapped some photos of these two cuties!
We ate some lunch with my grandpa and then headed to the house that we were staying in for the week.
After we got unpacked we went down to the pier and just walked around for a bit.

Later that evening my parents arrived from Tulsa and my brother arrived from DC and we went and grabbed a bite to eat at Ottawa Beach Inn - a little restaurant really close to where we stay. That night we all went to sleep pretty early because we had all been driving for a day!

On Sunday we got up and went to church. It's really unique because during the summer months they hold a service outdoors because the weather is so beautiful! I was excited because they did several songs that I sing often at Lifechurch!

That afternoon we all went down to the beach and hung out for a bit. It was really foggy, as you can see in this picture. We didn't even know this boat was out there for about half an hour because it was so foggy.
Finally a little sun came out and we got to touch the was about 60 degrees though! So no swimming was happening!

Then out of no where it down poured! We thought about running back to our house, but it's about a half a mile run, so we decided to take cover under the state park building.

After the rain came and went, the fog looked crazy on the sand!

Here are two of my beautiful cousins who got rained on!
The rest of that afternoon we hung out on the porch and watched the rain. Winston enjoyed cuddling up with the colder weather!
After the rain cleared up we headed to the beach again. This time we brought Winston with us. He LOVES the sand and will seriously dig for hours at a time! He is just the cutest the puppy!!!
That night I had to get my FAVORITE ice cream!!! Mackinac Island Fudge! Trevor likes the Michigan Deer Traxx the best! Both make the drive to Michigan worth every hour in the car! - That and getting to spend time with family!

The next day was a cold one! Seriously, the weather is normally beautiful around this time in Michigan but the rain brought in a little cold front. So we decided to go downtown and shop for a bit that afternoon. We also made a little pit stop at the New Holland Brewery.
That night after dinner we went to Tunnel Park as a family to celebrate life and watch the sunset. We never actually got to see a sunset because of the clouds...but this picture sure is pretty!
That night we had game night at our house! We played 3 on a couch and pit!
The next day was mine and Trevor's last day in Holland. We spent the day at the beach and soaked up as much sun as possible. We never made it swimming though because the cold front drastically changed the lake's temperature to a whopping 41 degrees! Are you kidding me! That is freakishly cold!!!
We also played a lot of much that my finger hurt so bad I had to sit out the last day! I know, sounds pathetic!

All the little kiddos enjoyed helping Winston dig his hole.

We left Holland at about 9:30am on Wednesday and made it home in 12 1/2 hours!
As I have mentioned in posts before, Michigan has always been a special place for me and Trevor. The first time Trevor came with me to Michigan was the first time he told me that he knew he wanted to marry me! He has planned to proposing in Michigan, but he ended up doing it right before summer started because I got a job in Branson and we were going to be living in different states for the summer. So we decided to get our engagement pictures taken there, and I also got my bridal portraits taken there!

Overall, we had a great time in Michigan! Trevor got to play golf a couple times - so he was happy - and I got a few relaxing days on the beach! We got to hang out with my brother that we don't see very often and we got to see several family members that we haven't seen in a few years! We definitely hope the weather is better next time, but it's always a fun time!
