Baby Snuggles in DC

My brother and sister-in-law had their perfect sweet baby girl on July 22nd and it was a MUST that I go visit ASAP! So, on August 14th I headed that way!

**SHOUTOUT TO MY AMAZING HUSBAND! He took off work and was home with the boys for 5 days so I could have this time away. Husband of the year! Dad of the year! Seriously, so selfless! We thought about making a family vacation out of it, but I know life with a newborn is a bit stressful, so I didn’t want to add chaos to their life by bringing the boys. Plus, it gave me some incredible quality time with Wes, Katy and baby Brynlee. Isn’t that the sweetest name!

Anyway, I left Tuesday evening and returned Sunday evening.

Each day my brother was so nice and brought me and Katy Dunkin Donuts - coffee and bagels. Me and Katy would hang out during the daytime, go on walks, go to lunch, go see my brother at work or hang out at the house. And then when my brother got home from work, we’d go grab some dinner or go to some neat local area and hang out. Brynlee was a champ through it all! We also had our fair share of Last Man Standing, Family Feud, HGTV, 4 Weddings, Married at First Sight and My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding. Haha!

Here are some fun pictures from my trip!

Meeting sweet baby girl! 💕

Such a good dad already!!

This was me most of the week and I’m not complaining! 🎀

Morning snuggles trying to let mom sleep!

I loved getting to FaceTime these cuties every day! I missed them so much!

That sweet smile!!

Lunch at Virtue in Old Town Alexandria.

Little misses got a little cranky at the restaurant one night so on our walk home I attempted to hold her and make her happy. This was the only position she was comfortable in!

Of course we had to watch What About Bob one night!

I didn’t want to leave my brother and Katy empty handed when I left, so I made them some ham and cheese sliders and chicken taquitos. I’m hungry just typing that!

Soaking in my last day snuggles!

We headed to an area called the Wharf and had dinner on my last night there. It was a really cool area and right on the water.

Saturday night my brother and I got away and had some quality time. We went on a little boat adventure on the Potomac River which was super fun and great people watching! Haha!

On one of my flights home I got to sit next to a dog! Haha! I knew you could fly with pets, but I had never actually witnessed it.

It was a GREAT trip and it went by so fast! I’m thankful to be home and snuggling my babies, but it makes me sad that I won’t see Brynlee or Wes and Katy until Christmas! This is when I’m thankful for the app Marco Polo! I can talk to them all the time! ;)
