Viva Las Vegas!!!

As a wedding gift, Trevor's cousin TJ gave us a trip to Las Vegas for a weekend! We haven't had too many weekends alone since the wedding, so we thought this past weekend would be the perfect opportunity to go!

Let me just preface this story by saying that Trevor and I have had horrible luck in Vegas...not with gambling or anything like that, just the events that happen when we go there...for example: Last time we went we drove there, so we ended up being stuck in traffic the majority of the time going there. We drove through every different variation of whether, and we ended up sitting in traffic for 4 hours just to cross Hoover Dam. We were mighty excited when we finally got there! While there, the other couple we were with broke up, so it was just bad news while we were there. And then on the way home, we ended up getting hit by a snow storm, the highway closed down, every hotel was booked, so we ended up having to stay in a shelter and sleep on cots! We eventually made it home and now it makes a great story. Needless to say, we were anxious to see what this Vegas trip had in store for us!

First up, we flew out of Springfield, MO. This is an airport that neither Trevor or I had been to, so we were a little out of our element. We ended up going to the wrong airport (the old airport) because our GPS was not familiar with the new one yet. Luckily, we were running a little early, so it didn't set us back too much.

We had a layover in Denver and our plane ended up getting delayed for 3 hours, so we sat at a little sports bar in the Denver airport for a long time!
Next up, when we finally got to Vegas, 3 hours late, we were told that a limo would pick us up. Well because of the huge delay, our driver was not there to pick us up! About 30 minutes later, he finally showed up! It was definitely exciting to have VIP service, even if we had to wait awhile! Trevor and I are pretty easy going, so we weren't that upset about it being late...plus, not trying to be a pessimist, but it was just funny to us because we got to add it to our list of bad luck things that happen to us on Vegas vacations!

We finally made it to the hotel! And it was AMAZING! We stayed at The Cosmopolitan and it was just perfect! We had never seen this hotel before, but it is definitely my favorite one on the strip now!

Once we got to the hotel and got checked in, we realized that we got a room that had two queen beds! It's just a funny thought to have two queen beds in your hotel room after you're married! Plus, we really look forward to King sized beds on vacation because we have a queen at home, and when you add a little dog to the mix, there is not much extra room in a queen bed! But I have to say our room was amazing!...and our view was even better! We got to look right over the Bellagio fountains!
That night we ended up going over to the Palms so we could go to a couple clubs there, Moon and Playboy. First we walked the strip for a bit; then we caught a cab to take us over to Palms. Both the clubs were really nice...Usually these clubs have huge lines and cost a lot to get in, but of course Trevor's cousin knew someone that hooked us up, so we got to be in the VIP line and get in for free!! Not too bad!

The next morning we finally both got to sleep in! I feel like I have not had a good sleep in, in forever! We woke up at 11 Vegas time, so we basically slept in until 1:00pm home time! That day we decided to get ready, have some lunch, ride the roller coaster at New York New York, and then head back to our hotel to hang out at the pool. Trevor has been wanting to ride this roller coaster since the last time we came, so I'm really glad we got to do it this time! It was actually very fun! But I'm not picky when it comes to things like that, I love roller coasters and anything like that. We walked around for a little bit after that since we knew this was our only DAY in Vegas. I absolutely love the hotel City Center. So we went into Aria for a little while and walked around. My favorite place there is a cake place named Jean Phillipe (That name may be spelled wrong), but he does AMAZING cakes and I just like to walk by and look at them!
We finally got back to our hotel and decided we wanted to go swimming. We heard the Boulevard Pool was really fun at our hotel, so we walked all the way across the hotel to find out that it was closed due to them having a concert there that evening. (just add that to our bad luck! lol!) So we walked back over to the pool in our tower called Bamboo Pool and hung out there for a bit!

I took this picture later that evening, because when we went down there, it was REALLY crowded!
After we hung out at the pool for a bit we decided to go to the Viva Las Vegas, Elvis show which is one of the Cirque shows! The show was in Aria so we went and had dinner at Jean Georges, a steakhouse in Aria and then went over to the show! It was a great show! Trevor and I both like Elvis, so of course we would like it! But the dancing was really great to watch and they had some great effects!

After the show we went right back to the hotel because the next morning was going to be an early one! We got up at 6 the next morning so we could get to the airport and catch our plane by 8. This time we had a layover in Denver and of course you know what happens next...we got delayed! About 3 hours later and a gate change, we finally boarded our plane to head home!!

Overall it was such a great trip! Trevor and I really enjoyed getting away and just spending time with each other! We definitely spent wayyyyyy to much! ...but who doesn't in Vegas! ;)
