Rhett is 23 Months!!!

Here we are again, a whole month later! The saying is true...the days are long but the weeks, months and years are short!

I’ve got the CUTEST party planned for this cutie and it revolves around Owls! His FAVORITE book is This is Owl, plus my MIL found the cutest cupcakes we could make, so it’s all coming together rather nicely! Plus, I’ve got the BEST party favors for all the kids that will be there!! I.CAN’T.WAIT!

It’s amazing how much Rhett is talking these days. I was really worried about his speech awhile ago, but of course after I scheduled an appointment to get him evaluated, his vocabulary took off! A lot of his words sound the same but it’s amazing how much I can understand!

Right now, both boys are obsessed with these Magic Painting Books! I usually have everything set up for them so when I go and get them in the morning, they run to the table and start their craft! It’s so fun and cute and perfect while I’m getting breakfast ready!

We got to visit dads work and have lunch with him and all of his co-workers this month. We didn’t make it past the lobby! Haha!

It was SO HOT this month, but Trevor talked me into going to the Gathering Place one night for an event. We didn’t last very long and we ended up going home to swim! Haha!

And of course we did a little fishing!

Early mornings and evenings were about the only times we could play outside without sweating to death! We try to be outside as much as possible but this month was hard!

Splash pads saved us! I should have brought my swimming suit half the time!

This kid LOVES books! He’s very particular about the books he wants though. They have to have a flap or be interactive in some way! This one always grabs his attention!

This kid is officially potty trained! He’s been doing great for awhile now but this is the month he really took ownership of it. He now tells me when he has to go instead of me asking him every 30 minutes. And he hasn’t had an accident in weeks!! So proud of him!

We had several play dates this month! The splash pad with a side of balloons might have been our favorite!!

We are learning to spell our name! This one didn’t go very well. He got frustrated pretty quickly and we spend most of the time talking about how some things might take us a little while and that’s okay!

They have so much fun with these horses! They go from being horses to shotguns to weed-eaters to vacuums! I love their imaginations!

Oh yes, they are also guitars!! Haha!

Snacks and books are the only things this kid wants after his nap!

Since spelling his name was a little frustrating, I decided to do some easier words that had no double letters! This went MUCH better until we worked up to his name!

I then added a book and had him match the letters on the iPad to the letters in the book and then he could tell me what it said!

These are always so fun in the morning!! Thankful for Busy books so I can get breakfast on the table!

MOVIE DAY!!! It was super rainy one day, so we brought all our pillows, blankets and animals into mom and dads room and watch a movie! It was so much fun! Little man actually sat through a lot of it! Haha!

Ice cream date!! He’s a MESS!!

Art time!

I love this kids smile!!! Even when it’s covered in dirt!

We went to the children’s museum with some friends and it was SO MUCH FUN!!!

Someone got new clothes! He was so obsessed with them he would take them off! It was cracking me up! They were a little bit but after seeing his reaction, I had to keep them!

When I asked him what he was doing, he said he was walking like dad! Haha! I’m not sure Trevor walks like that, but it’s so funny and cute the little things they pick up on!

Cheesin’ -- literally there’s cheese all over his face from easy queso with a spoon!!!

He is obsessed with kitty-cats! This is my FIL new barn kitty! Rhett instantly took a liking to him!

Rhett and I took a little day trip to Pawhuska to see my cousins one morning! Brooks and Trevor stayed home and had a date day too! I loved getting to hang with this little one and give him all the love and attention! One on one days don’t happen often!

He was a fan of Ruthann and Walter!

Goodness they are so cute!! It was soo hot to go outside one day, so we played in the tub for a solid hour! This way the mess is contained!! Haha!

He has the BEST smile!!!

Puzzle day!!!!

Well little man, in 1 month you will be 2! Ready or not, here it comes!
