What a Weekend!

This weekend was truly amazing! It's been stressing me out for a few weeks, but once it finally got here, well, everyone is still alive, so I guess it all went okay!! First up was Friday night. On Thursday we were given free tickets to go to an event called Tulsa Wine and Roses. We initially were planning to do nothing Friday night because Saturday was such a big day, but we couldn't turn down free tickets. The event was at the Tulsa Garden Center by Woodward Park and there were about 40 different food/distributors around the Tulsa area and it was amazing!!! Seriously, we ate so much food! My favorite food was from Tallgrass Prairie Table and my favorite dessert was from Nothing Bundt Cakes. We went back for seconds! If you have not tried this place...holy cow! It was amazing!

That night we went home and got straight in bed for our busy busy Saturday!! Saturday we woke up around 5:30, stretched, got dressed, and headed downtown for Race for the Cure. The race started at 7:30. I have been doing the couch to 5k app since the first week in August and Trevor had just run a handful of times with me the last few weeks. My only goals were to run the entire time and to beat my past times and I succeeded on both, so I sure was happy!
Trevor's time was amazing! He did it in about 28 minutes and I was a little under 35 minutes. Yes, I am well aware that I run at the pace of a turtle. 🐢
After the race we headed home to shower and get ready for the day and we went to breakfast with Trevor's mom and step-dad. We went to Cafe Savannah's at Forest Ridge. If you have not been there, I highly suggest it. We have been there twice for breakfast and you get an abundant amount of food and it's really inexpensive and delicious! Anyway, we went to breakfast and then headed to Trevor's dad's to celebrate his birthday. I wasn't able to stay but an hour or so because I was asked to lead worship on Saturday night. I.was.super.nervous!! To be completely honest, I almost backed out on running the 5k because I put a lot of pressure on myself to make everything perfect, but Trevor made me stick to my goal of running...so I just did it all! So, I hung out at Trevor's dad's for a bit and then headed to the church. I had such an amazing time leading! I was definitely nervous, but I just continued to pray that God would give me the words to speak. And HE IS FAITHFUL! Everything went really smooth, better than I ever could have dreamed! Plus, I literally had the best, most encouraging, talented band/music techs up on stage with me! It almost brought tears to my eyes how gracious they were to me! Thank you all for making my first time leading such an amazing experience!
Trevor and my amazing, supportive lifegroup came to the 6:30 service and Trevor got a couple pictures!

After church we all went to dinner together at Charleston's. I seriously have the best friends! I can't imagine my life without this amazing lifegroup!

We went to bed super early Saturday night because I had church again this morning and Trevor went to help his dad with hay bales. I was also soooo excited because my best friend, Nichole and her boyfriend, Stephen got to come to the 11:30 service. Although I didn't get to hang out with them for very long, it was so sweet of them to make the time to come and see me and talk to me for 30 minutes after the service before the next service started. She even took this sweet picture!

Seriously, WHAT AN AMAZING WEEKEND! I think Trevor and I are going to have a relaxing evening at home tonight! Netflix is calling my name, so is pizza! 🍕🍕

Pistols Firing!!

Saturday was the first home game for OSU. Trevor and I did not get season tickets this year, so originally we weren't planning on going but on Friday, Trevor's mom and step dad called and said they had a couple extra tickets for free. So, off to Stillwater we went! Tony, Trevor's step dad, works for Airgas and they are the ones in charge of the smoke effect when the football players are coming out of the tunnel at the beginning of the game. So, that is how we got tickets (THANKS TONY!!) We left in the afternoon because we needed to get a few things done that morning. (When we had season tickets last year we would leave at like 8am to get there and start tailgating early, so I was happy with the decision to leave a little later.) We got to Stillwater and had to drive around a bit for parking since we got there so late, but we eventually parked by Joes. We then walked to where we always tailgated last year and got to see several friends.

We, of course, had to make a stop at the Student Union to get a few new OSU items (because we definitely don't have enough already!) ;)

We then headed in the game and found our seats. They were not bad at all.

Since Tony knew the people that were in charge of the smoke effect, we got to go on the field and watch part of the game! It was so neat!

By the paddle people!

There was a really cool play that happened right in front of us, but we were so into it that we didn't think to try and take a picture.

We even got to go in the tunnel and experience the smoke effect!

Now that's something to cross off the bucket list! Too much fun! Although we won't be going to all the games, I'm so glad that we live close enough to go to a few throughout the season! What a fun day!! 🏈🍊🔫

Yeti

I should seriously be Yeti's new spokesperson!

A couple Christmas's ago I bought Trevor a Yeti cooler and it is honestly amazing. I spent way too much $$ on it, but once I saw how good it truly worked, it was totally worth every penny. We use it all the time and it is so much better than our other coolers! So if you don't have one yet, save your money and get one!

Our friends had the Yeti cups like this...

...and they worked so well! I told Trevor we needed to get some! Well, he surprised me last week and when I got home from work he had bought these two for us! I.was.so.excited!! Again, when you purchase them they are a little pricy, but now that I have one and have used it a couple times...worth.every.penny!! I will never buy another cup again!

I am kind of a slooooow coffee drinker. It was a Saturday morning and I poured coffee into my new cup around 8:30 and it was still hot and perfect to drink around 12:30! Seriously crazy! Then the other day I poured some for work. I leave for work around 6:30, so I poured it right before I left and I have 3rd hour plan which starts at 10:10. I was still sipping on my coffee then and it was perfect to drink!

I haven't done much experimenting with the cold drinks yet, but when we were with friends (the first time we used them before we had our own) we were drinking cold drinks and it amazed me then too!

Like I said...I think Yeti needs to hire me! I would actually be a pretty good sales person for this job!
I've got my eye on this little guy for my next purchase!

Houseboat Trip 2015!

The last 2 years we have gone on a houseboat trip on Lake Ouachita. The first year we went the first weekend in May and it was super cold. Last year we decided to go over Labor Day weekend and it was perfect, so we decided to go over Labor Day weekend again this year. It's about a 4 hour drive to our destination and then it's 3 relaxing days on the lake. We had perfect weather and great company! What more could you ask for. Trevor always volunteers to be chef for the trip, so we had burgers and brats the first night with buffalo dip, BBQ chicken the second night with cream corn and prickle dip and tacos the third night. Trevor made us breakfast each morning as well. We definitely didn't go hungry. The best part is, everyone makes some delicious chexmix munchies and we snack on them all day!

Trevor and I drove down with our neighbors Cassie and Randy. We arrived first and the Yates weren't too far behind us. While we were waiting to get everything situated, Cassie and I went and got cute tanks!

We got out on the lake and found a destination for the evening.
The next day was just a fun day on the lake!
We took some fun videos...but I guess I can't put those on here! :(

Around 5 that evening the Corbit's arrived. We went and picked them up at the dock and then headed out again and found a place to swim for a bit.

Trevor got super excited about selfies!!

That night we got a fire going after dinner and hung out outside for a bit.

We had another relaxing day floating around on Sunday, plus we all got super sunburnt! We are all paying for it today!! :(

The last night we watched the sunset, ate some dinner and then played UNO!
It was definitely a relaxing weekend with great company! Just what I needed!
