Captain Random

So nothing has happened lately that would require it's own special blog...so here is one post compiled with many events!

First up...about a week and a half ago a bunch of performers from Silver Dollar City all hung out at a little local bar in Hollister. We were literally the only ones there and I'm pretty sure they only stayed open for us...but we made the best of it and had a great time!!

the girls!

apparently it was leather jacket night! ;)
On one of my days off last week, a few of us went to Springfield and went shopping...that's where I got my new black boots!! ;) But we also ran into this...I almost wish I would have bought it!

Redneck Wine Glass
You know you're a redneck if.... you drink box wine from this! Yes please!! ;)

This past Saturday a few friends from Branson and I went to Pizza Hut/Wings To Go to catch the end of the OSU game (I am so proud to be a Cowboy 'girl' especially after this past game!!! PISTOLS FIRING!!!) But after the game we stayed and ate some pizza and this is what we encountered in the parking lot...
Are you kidding me!!! This is just NOT okay!! Now I hate snakes more than anything, but this is probably the largest spider I have even seen face to face! It is some kind of Missouri Taranchula! I definitely inspected my sheets before I got in bed this night!!! I'm a scaredy cat when it comes to bugs!

Winston has been really needy lately! I think it is because I basically leave him all day for work and many nights after work I have plans, so I leave him alone again. That really only leaves my days off to hang out with him, but when I plan things on my days off, he is left alone even more! So one night I came home, sat on my couch and watched a movie. This is how Winston laid the ENTIRE movie!!!
When I would try and move a little he would moan and kick me in the head and then come right back to this position! I think I need to give him a little more attention! I'll be working on that this week! I know...pitiful!

And last but not least...I went to Tulsa this weekend to visit the hubs and when I got there this is what was waiting for me...

How pretty and sweet!!! I was sad I only got to enjoy them for 2 days...but I left them with my mom and I'm sure she will take good care of them!

If you have stayed with me this whole post I am proud of you!!! Sorry for the randomness!!!! HAPPY WEDNESDAY!!!

Fall is Coming!!

Missouri is having a hard time deciding whether it wants to let fall come on in or if it still wants summer to be around. But with the few "fall" days that we have had, it has sparked a shopping bug within me! I love all the sweaters, boots, scarves, and warm clothes that come around this time of year! Winter is my favorite season...so the closer it gets the happier I get! Here are a couple goodies that I picked up the past few weeks!
This one is from Target...it just looked comfy and warm! ;)

I love wearing these shirts with leggings and boots!

I love these boots!!! I went shopping yesterday on the hunt for boots...and these were the ones I found!!

Like I said, summer has not decided to completely leave us...which is okay because we get a couple more hours in the sun at the lake!

Which is where I'm off to again today!

Happy Tuesday!!! I get to see my husband in 5 days!!! YAY!

The Start to Goodbye

Slowly but surely my time here in Branson is coming to an end. I moved here in March and started work, then Trevor moved here shortly after Graduation and the wedding. After living in Branson last year, I knew quite a few people would probably come and visit, so we decided to get a two bedroom apartment so we would have room for company. It was definitely a great decision on our part, because we have had our fair share of visitors. I knew I would only be here a little over 6 months, but I still like to make the place feel like home, so we spend a lot of time decorating. After the wedding, we had so many great things to add, so we kind of re-decorated the apartment. Well, as you know Trevor is already back living in Tulsa and I only have about a month and a half left, so every time Trevor comes to visit or I make a trip home we always pack a few large things. This way, we won't have so much to move on moving day. Before we take everything out of the apartment, I took some pictures just so I have some memories of this place, plus I really liked a couple things we did, so I want to have documentation when we move into our next place! Over the next month and a half I'll post a few pictures of each room as I'm saying goodbye to my little place! First up...the guest bedroom. This past weekend Trevor took my kitchen table, so I moved a couple things from the guest bedroom to the dining area to make it not so vacant. But here a few pics of the guest bedroom before moving things around!...
I had arranged this room completely different, but one day when I went to work, I came home and Trevor had redone it completely. So I have to give him most of the credit for this room!

Trevor and I picked out the sheets and duvet together. Although we think it looks cute, making that extra fold in the sheets is sometimes a pain in the butt when you are in a hurry to make the bed! haha! And when I was at work one day, Trevor went and bought that lamp! He is actually pretty good at this decorating thing!

All of the picture frames on the wall were wedding gifts. We take a LOT of pictures, so I really like the collage type picture frames!

The vase on the shelf is so pretty I couldn't put it away, but I never got around to putting flowers in it! And on the middle shelf is our professional graduation pictures. I never found a frame I liked for Trevor's pictures, so I'm still on the look out. You could say this is my unfinished project shelf!

Well there it is! My cozy guest bedroom. It definitely served it's purpose with so many people visiting us each weekend! The bed is still in there, so feel free to come visit us if you need a weekend vaca!

Have a great week!!! I'm off to the lake! ;)

The Automobile Chronicles

A lot of exciting things happened this weekend, so I thought I would do a couple blogs today to catch up! ...The most exciting thing that happened was Trevor and I got a new car!!! A Jeep Wrangler Sport! Now before I get into the details about that...I'm going to take a walk down memory lane with my car history...

First up, my dream car since I was 5 *A white Jeep Wrangler*!
I absolutely LOVED this car! I have two memories that really stick out that happened in this car. My first being, a month after I turned 16 I decided to take a trip to Stillwater to see my brother for his birthday. I missed the Stillwater exit and turned around on the highway and got pulled over. The cop was nice enough (this time) to just give me a warning! Well I was only going to stay a couple hours because I had to drive back home that night so I could go to school the next day. Well on the way home, the same cop from earlier pulled me over again because I was speeding. He wasn't so kind this time because I got my first ticket! But who can say they have been pulled over by the same cop twice in the same night for two different offenses! I probably shouldn't be bragging about that!
The other memory is mine and Trevor's first date. Trevor drove to my house and then we were both going to drive to my friends house before going to dinner. Well I didn't even look behind me when pulling out of my drive-way and hit the side of Trevor's truck. I then had to meet his dad for the first time following this event! A great first impression I'm sure! It only did about $15 worth of damage to my car...but it did $1500 worth of damage to Trevor's truck. He likes to say he kept me around in the beginning to make sure I paid his truck off...but I'm pretty sure there was more to it! ;)

I had many great times in the jeep, but when senior year of high school rolled around, my parents moved to south Tulsa and I had to drive about 50 miles a day...so my dad decided to get me a car with better gas mileage, so here came the Volkswagen Jetta
This was a fun car to have, but it has probably been my least favorite! I have one memory that stands out from this car and it was right after I bought it. The following weekend after buying the car my brother and I decided to drive to Nebraska to visit his girlfriend at the time. I was so excited about my new car that I really wanted to drive it. Well with it being standard, it did not have cruise control. And my brother did not know how to drive standard...so I had to drive the whole 7 some hour trip with no cruise control! Well that was only the start of our problems. We got a little down the road and the A/C went out...now it was the beginning of June when we made this trip so you can only imagine how hot it was! So we had to travel windows down the whole way, and only roll them up when someone had to talk on the phone. The further we got, the more things that went wrong. Eventually the radio stopped working. Then it started raining and we realized my windshield wipers didn't work. And as it became dark outside we turned on my lights and they were so dim that I had to drive the whole time with my brights on just to see at all in front of me! So, needless to say, it was a trip I will never forget. But it was also one of the best memories I have hanging out with my brother.

We eventually got all of these things fixed and it ended up being a great car, but because it didn't have cruise control, it didn't really make a good long term car especially when traveling back and forth from college.

So next up was the Mercedes Benz ML320
This is the car that I have owned the longest! I really liked this car and was somewhat sad to see it go, but every time something broke it cost 5X more than what a normal car would cost just because it had the Mercedes name on it. Even getting an oil change was twice as expensive! So when we got married, Trevor was very adamant to get it sold. Most of my college days were in this car and something I always thought was funny was during recruitment, each sorority house would make sure the girls that had the best cars would be parked where everyone going through recruitment could see them. This little car made the cut every year! haha! We also traveled a lot in this car. It has been to Kansas, Colorado, Florida, Texas (several times), Missouri, and Michigan. It was always a great car to travel in!

Which leads me to my NEW CAR!!!! Ever since I sold my first Jeep I have always wanted another one. I absolutely LOVE driving standard, and I just love the look of Jeep Wranglers. They are so unique! The one thing I was skeptical about was giving up cruise control. Especially with me living in Branson right now and Trevor living in Tulsa, I don't think I would even want to make one trip without cruise control. Well my mom and I went and test drove this Jeep and I absolutely loved it...the second he told me it had cruise control, I knew Trevor was in trouble because I was determined to get this Jeep!!!
I test drove it on Wednesday and by Friday we had bought it! So between Wednesday and Friday I had a lot of work to do! Since we weren't going to sell my car until after we bought a new one, we ended up having to take out a loan. Now, there is double standard with loans. You can't get a semi-large loan until you have taken out a loan before, but if you can't take out a loan without having a previous loan, how are you ever going to get a loan! So this definitely took some wheeling and dealing! But I was pretty darn proud of myself because I handled all the paperwork and all the technical stuff myself. Since Trevor had to work the same hours the loan office was open, I had to get all the affairs in order. The only thing Trevor had to do was get off work a little early and get the papers signed. But I have to say I learned a lot of little details along the way. And we were really fortunate because I put my car on craigslist and less than a day later it was sold. So we are lucky we don't have to deal with 3 cars right now!

We have been in such a rush since we got the Jeep that today is really our first day to just enjoy it. So we drove it all around Branson today and just enjoyed the weather! I have nicknamed her Golden Goddess! ;)

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!! I will be driving as much as possible enjoying life's little things! ;)

Football Season!!!

So first let me start off by saying, I'm not a huge sports fan! Most of the time I usually hate watching sports...but as an OSU fan and a person that is married to a HUGE sports fan...I enjoying watch OSU football. (I also enjoy watching basketball bc I played as a kid so I actually know all the rules and understand what is going on). But back to football...it is that time of year! Sadly, with me living in Missouri and working every weekend, I won't really get an opportunity to go to many games...but that doesn't mean I won't get dressed up and find a place to watch the game!! The first game of the season, I had to work and Trevor was nice enough to miss going to the game and he came to Branson to see me instead. We hadn't seen each other in over 2 weeks so it was nice to be together! So we ended up going to a little sports bar in Branson called Time Out and watched the game there. There were only 4 other people there watching the OSU game and we ended up knowing a few mutual people. Small world!!

Then for the second game of the season, I ended up having Monday-Friday off as mentioned in a previous post, so I came back to Tulsa. Trevor had to work those days, but we at least got to be with each other in the evening. We had planned on going to the OSU game Thursday night since we were both in Tulsa...but we had some exciting things happen that day (we got a new car!!!! A jeep to be exact...I'll blog about that later though) so we were really busy getting all that squared away, we didnt have time to go to Stillwater. So on Thursday we went to eat at Leon's in Tulsa and watched part of the game there and then went to a friends house for the rest...Here are a few pictures from the first two games!...

Yes, I love dressing Winston up on game day!!! And since we won both games and he wore his jersey both games, I'm a little superstitious and will have to make him wear it every game day until we lose (which we won't)! Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!!! I will be spending the weekend with my amazing husband!! ;)

Mom's Birthday!!!

Yesterday, September 6th was my mom's birthday!! She is turning...29!!! Just kidding! Luckily, I have the 6th-9th off of work and was able to come home so we could celebrate! She is usually a hard person to shop for, but this year I decided to get her...

Some Scentsy smells!
I got her this for Mother's Day this year...

and I only got her one scent to go with it...so I decided she needed some new smells! She likes to keep it near the front door of our house which looks like a beach area, so I got her the "Beach" smell. And since winter is coming faster than we all think, I got her "Cinnamon Vanilla" because it sounds like a winter type smell. I ordered them online, which is a little frustrating because you don't get to smell them before you buy them, but I was pleased with both scents!

Also, we have this new store in Branson called Mark Ashton! I absolutely LOVE their bags! They are so cute and very reasonably priced! If you haven't heard of them, I definitely recommend them! Their website is: http://www.markashton.com/Store/pc/home.asp
So I ended up getting my mom these little make-up bags as well!...

We also went on a little shopping spree yesterday which is always fun! And tonight we are all going out to dinner to celebrate! I'm pretty sure she will choose to eat at the Cheesecake Factory because she loves their food and she loves eating outside when the weather is nice! So HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!! Hope it's a great year!!

A Surprise in my Lunch Pail!

I was running a little late for work yesterday and since Trevor is in town he was kind enough to put a little lunch together for me. When lunch time came around I sat down and for one, I thought it was extra nice because he packed a napkin for me...and second...this is what was in my lunch pail!
